Sneak Peek: Scent That Sells
Brief: Drive footfall to Petco stores.
Petco’s “Scent-sory Tour” used dog-attracting scent trails placed along common walking routes—turning the dog into the marketing channel. As pups sniffed their way to the store, they brought their owners with them, creating a campaign powered by behaviour, not banners. Other brands activated the nose too:
- Jinx created dog-height “barkboards” with food-scented ad surfaces.
- Pedigree used algorithms to trigger dog-specific ads when a pet was near.
- Petz built facial recognition that let dogs “approve” their favourite products.
Each one proved you don’t have to speak human to make your point.
